19-25 November is Road Safety Week, an initiative organised by Brake, bringing together communities and organisations to promote safety on UK roads.

Poor road surface led to fatal incident
Peter Savage and the team recently acted on behalf of a young mother and her daughter who tragically lost their partner and father in an accident which was caused as a result of the poor state of the road surface. The deceased lost control of his vehicle on a bend and tragically suffered fatal injuries. A claim was brought against the local authority who defended the claim vigorously.
During the inquest, the coroner had criticised the state of the roadway and the local authority as there had been a number of incidents at the same location previously.
Despite the local authority defending the claim and formal legal proceedings having to be brought, we successfully secured a significant six figure settlement, thereby securing the financial security for the young mother and her daughter.
