Ally Taft
Head of Clinical Negligence
A bit about me
I fight for clinical negligence clients who are distressed or vulnerable in order to provide financial security and justice. I have many years experience of this and am pleased to say I have had a positive impact on hundreds of lives, by setting the scales right in these cases. I particularly enjoy getting to the bottom of complicated medical issues, which are challenging and confusing to navigate.
I spend as much time as it takes to ensure my clients understand all of the issues and don’t feel daunted by the process and the evidence. I’m prepared to work hard to push issues, provide a good listening ear, and always speak in plain English in what can be a confusing area of law. I specialise in medical negligence, inquest representation, product liability claims, and assault by the medical profession.
Outside of work I have a variety of passions: I play rugby for Worcester Warriors, hockey for Hereford Ladies, and have sung in Notre Dame, Westminster, and Kiev cathedrals. I also support CP Cymru, Megan Baker House, Footsteps, and Hereford Headway charities.

Questions I’m frequently asked
How long will the case take?
An average clinical negligence case will take 3 years. More complex or higher value ones can take much longer.
Will my ongoing treatment be affected?
It shouldn’t be. Only the consultant in charge of your treatment knows we are requesting your records and it’s not noted on your treating file.
Can they change my medical records?
It’s very unlikely and is usually obvious or can be traced through the computer records systems. Changing hospital records would involve collusion by numerous staff members so is very unlikely.
