Cerebral Palsy Cymru

A national centre of excellence for families in Wales with children who have cerebral palsy

Cerebral palsy is a lifelong disorder that affects movement and posture.

Cerebral Palsy Cymru has a specialist team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech and language therapists who work together so each child benefits from their combined expertise.

Its family support service offers a listening ear, advice and support. It shares knowledge and skills through collaborative working, courses, national and international conferences.

The charity was founded in 1989 by a group of parents in Wales frustrated by the distance they had to travel for specialist treatment. They made a pledge together to open a specialist centre in Wales. This opened in 1992.
