Multiple women have accused Mohammed Al Fayed, who owned Harrods between 1985 and 2010, of rape and sexual assault. The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that 146 people have come forward to report crimes. In response, the Harrods Redress Scheme has been established to compensate survivors. At Medical Accident Group, we are here to support you through the claims process.
What is the Harrods Redress Scheme?
Launched in March 2024, the Harrods Redress Scheme provides compensation to individuals who suffered abuse whilst employed by Harrods or by Mohammed Al Fayed personally. Harrods has set aside more than £60 million to compensate victims. More than 180 survivors are currently engaged in the process, and compensation has already been paid to over 50 women.
Who is eligible to claim?
The scheme is open to individuals who experienced abuse during their employment at Harrods or abuse perpetrated by Mohammed Al Fayed, including sexual abuse, harassment, and other forms of mistreatment. If you believe you may have been affected, our experienced team can help you understand whether you may be entitled to claim.
The deadline: 31 March
The deadline for submitting claims is 31 March 2026. No new claims will be accepted after this date. Applications submitted by the deadline will continue to be processed, and Harrods will continue offering counselling support to survivors. We strongly urge anyone who may be eligible to come forward now to ensure your claim is properly prepared and submitted in time.
