Orthopaedic surgeon recommended surgery but, after surgery, she was unable to straighten her arm

  • March 25, 2015
  • In 2009 the Claimant began experiencing severe pain in her right arm from tennis elbow.  She was prescribed steroid injections but continued to experience pain so tried acupuncture and neither method was successful.  She consulted an orthopaedic surgeon who recommended surgery but, after surgery, she was unable to straighten her arm.  In addition, she developed arthritis exacerbated by surgery.  This limited what she could do as a cook and she required some care and assistance.

We managed to obtain compensation on behalf of the Claimant.  The Defendant initially made a ‘drop hands’ offer in this matter.  However, due to Inez’s skill, and experience together with the experts that she recommended we were able to secure a better outcome for the client.
