Open prolene mesh repair of the left inguinal hernia.

  • March 25, 2015
  • The Claimant attended Aintree Hospital in order to undergo an open prolene mesh repair of the left inguinal hernia. Unfortunately the wound burst and throughout 2008 and 2009 Mr S experienced pus discharging from the wound.

On 22 April 2009 he was referred back to hospital for a second operation where the infected part of the groin mesh was removed.  In 2011 the wound became infected again and he underwent a third operation and finally a fourth operation in February 2012.

The Medical Accident Group managed to obtain compensation on behalf of the Mr S. Inguinal hernia claims are difficult to investigate as post operative infection is a known risk.
