30-year delay in diagnosis of Hirschsprung's disease

30-year delay in diagnosis of Hirschsprung’s disease

  • March 25, 2015
  • This was an unusual and complex case relating to a more than 30-year delay in diagnosis of Hirschsprung’s disease, resulting in a lifetime of bowel symptoms. Difficulties were encountered due to records having been destroyed, hospitals having closed down and witnesses having died. Arguments were raised on limitation.

Despite this, we pursued matters for Mr T and found experts who were practicing at the relevant time and who were supportive. The successful result we obtained for the client was, as he said, “life-changing” for him.  This is an excellent example of us pursuing a claim to a successful conclusion in the face of substantial challenges.
